Location
Country: The Netherlands
City/region/county: Budel/ Noord-Brabant
(future) use of location: Railway zone
Built-up location during the active remediation phase?: No
Technique
In situ saneringstechniek: In situ Metal Precipitation (ISMP)
Explanation technique: Vertical injection filters at two depths, with infiltration of a substrate (melasse) and nutrients.
Also other remediation techniques applied?: No
After care needed?: Yes, monitoring of permantent/decreasing precipitation
Rationale for the chosen technique: Pilot i.v.m. SKB-project naar: - further development/optimalisation of the techniek - judging and verification of the stability - increasing the support and knowledgetransfer

Stakeholders
Problem owner: ABdK
Contractor: A&G Milieutechniek bv
Remediation plan: nvt
Remediation research: Projectplan "insitu removal heavy metals Kempen", Tauw 2006, kenmerk PT04.105-A
Competent authority: Provincie Noord-Brabant
Contact information stake holders: Tauw Dhr. T. Keijzer 0570-699717
Additional information
Lessons learned: In case of a poorly drained soil, the use of local water for the mixture of the substrate and groundwater which needs to be infiltrated is difficult, expensive and time-comsuming.
